Abortion is something that breaks my heart, but I really don’t know how to do anything about it. I’ve had an idea of a commercial to make to get people to think, not an “in your face, abortion is wrong” type ad, but just a thought instigator. I’ve taken no action though. I think that this book, might be interesting to read before I attempt anything though. A study into how “Pro-choice” conservatives have “won” the battle against abortion by redirecting the debate to issues that are easy to win.
The Swiftboat Vets for Truth campaign is really interesting. The media is very much trying to downplay it, but if you read their charges it’s very legitimate. Their documentation is, well, intense. Here’s a link to their summary letter.
This page has another instance of how John Kerry’s war record and motives have been distorted.
An interesting commentary on why it’s important for us to discuss the allegations about Kerry’s war experience. Namely, he’s made it nearly the entire basis of his campaign. And since he hangs so much on it, if it isn’t the truth, then is he really worthy of being president?
Glenn Reynolds thinks that republicans should try and run this ad during primetime tv. And he agrees with the premise. I don’t, because I don’t agree with they’re meaning of right to choose and women’s rights. It’s also lil innuendo-ish. but yikes. That’s just stupid.
Update: A Small Victory blog has a wonderful rant/rave on the current attitude of Bush Hating. He refers to the name SBHFS (Sudden Bush Hating Fatigue Syndrome), which I kind of like.
